Frankfurt already hosts numerous established financial events, including Euro Finance Week and many other formats. What gap is Finance26 intended to fill in Frankfurt as a financial centre, and how does it differ from existing events?
Frankfurt is the heart of Germany’s financial centre and one of Europe’s most important financial hubs. Representatives from politics, academia and the financial industry regularly come together here to discuss the future of the sector. What has been missing so far, however, is an event that connects the financial industry with society.
Finance26 sees itself as a bridge between the financial industry and the public. It brings together private investors, institutional investors, banks, asset managers, FinTechs, media, academia and policymakers in one place, creating space for information, exchange and inspiration.
We explicitly do not see ourselves as a competitor to existing specialist conferences, but rather as a meaningful addition. While many events primarily promote dialogue within the industry, Finance26 is deliberately aimed at everyone interested in building wealth, investing and shaping their financial future.
Germany is facing major challenges. Demographic change is fundamentally transforming the pension system and making private retirement provision more important than ever. At the same time, despite its economic strength, Germany still has a comparatively weak equity culture. Many people have a significant need for reliable information and are looking for guidance.
This is exactly where Finance26 comes in. Our goal is to make financial knowledge understandable, independent and practical, thereby contributing to greater financial literacy and personal financial responsibility.
Finance26 is explicitly aimed at private investors as well – from beginners to experienced investors. What specific topics and offerings can visitors expect, and what role does financial education play in this?
Financial education is not just one item on the Finance26 agenda – it is the foundation of the entire event.
Anyone who wants to build wealth or provide for retirement today needs to understand financial concepts. Our aim is therefore to explain complex topics in an accessible way and help people make better financial decisions.
Visitors can expect an exceptionally comprehensive programme featuring five stages, nine lecture rooms, and more than 250 talks, seminars, workshops and panel discussions. Topics range from stocks, ETFs and dividend strategies to real estate, cryptocurrencies and trading, as well as asset management, retirement planning, FinTechs and the impact of artificial intelligence on the financial world.
It is especially important to us that every visitor, regardless of their level of knowledge, takes home practical insights. Beginners should gain an accessible introduction to the world of investing, while experienced investors should discover new perspectives, strategies and contacts.
The KidsPark is another special feature. There, we want to introduce children and young people to the responsible handling of money in a playful way. If we want to strengthen financial education, we need to start early. Financial literacy is a key skill for the future – just as essential as reading, writing or using digital media.
For its premiere, you are expecting more than 10,000 visitors and around 100 exhibitors. What are your goals for the first Finance26, and how do you envision the event developing over the coming years?
Of course, we are delighted by the strong response, with more than 10,000 visitors expected and around 100 exhibitors. For us, however, these figures are not the actual goal, but rather the result of a strong idea.
Our aim is to create an event that has a lasting positive impact on people. If visitors leave Finance26 with greater knowledge, new contacts and more confidence in their own financial decisions, then the premiere will have been a success.
In the long term, we have a clear vision: Finance26 should establish itself as the leading event for investing, wealth building and financial education in the German-speaking region.
Frankfurt offers ideal conditions for this. No other location in Germany combines a comparable concentration of banks, the stock exchange, asset managers, FinTechs, regulatory authorities and financial expertise.
Our goal is to build on these strengths and gradually develop Finance26 into a permanent fixture on the European financial calendar – a meeting place for knowledge, innovation, dialogue and exchange.
Because we are convinced that a strong financial industry needs informed citizens. With Finance26, we want to make a lasting contribution to exactly that.
