In Offenbach, the Klingspor Museum invites visitors to explore contemporary comic art at workshops, bars, and readings, while SCAPE° becomes a hands-on workshop on weather, climate, and culture.

The NACHT also offers a variety of musical experiences: at MOMEM, the Museum of Modern Electronic Music, DJs will take over the club night from 9:30 p.m., and at the Jewish Museum, DJ Naro will get the dance floor rocking. At the Liebieghaus, electronic sounds will be heard among the sculptures of Isa Genzken, while the Museum for Communication will celebrate drag, voguing, and electro—with a catwalk, comedy, and peep installations. Swing Belleville will play jazz manouche at the Senckenberg Natural History Museum, complementing “Brain Magic” by Dr. Harry Keaton, and the Weltkulturen Museum will present feedback sounds from the No-Input Workshop.

And many venues invite visitors to join in: the EXPERIMINTA Science Center with dry ice and a flight simulator, the Museum of Applied Arts with workshops on design classics of the New Frankfurt, and the German Film Museum with a one-shot party, blue box photo campaign, live film soundtrack, and DJ lineup. The Historical Museum invites its guests to dance at a swing workshop – in keeping with the title of the current exhibition, “Bewegung!” (Movement!). The young art scene presents itself at the Frankfurter Kunstverein with an exhibition, director-led tours, and danceable sounds. At the Struwwelpeter Museum, visitors can attend collage workshops and experience the guitar duo “Frankfurter Zweierlei” live.

Focus for 2025: Photography and New Frankfurt
This year, there is a special focus on photography. The Städel Museum is presenting a major retrospective of the feminist artist Annegret Soltau. The Haus am Dom is showing poetic photographs by Manfred Koch under the title “Meerhimmelland” (Sea Sky Land) – with an atmospheric view from the roof terrace. The Crespo Open Space – participating in the NIGHT OF MUSEUMS for the first time – is exhibiting works by the winners of the “After Nature. Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize 2024.” Works by young, international photographers on contemporary themes can be seen at the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, complemented by exclusive insights into the collection and a lecture by artist Florian Albrecht-Schoeck on artificial intelligence (AI) in photography.
And the Museum of Applied Arts MAK is presenting its newly opened exhibition “100 Years of New Frankfurt,” the core exhibition kicking off the city-wide program in the anniversary year.

Exploring hidden places
Exploring otherwise hidden places is also part of the special appeal of NACHT: for example, on torchlight tours through the Fischergewölbe under the Alte Brücke, on the roof terrace of the Goldene Waage, or on nighttime ascents to the cathedral tower. The European Central Bank offers insights into its art collection and visitor center upon prior registration, the Galerie Greulich shows AI art in urban spaces, while Massif E marks a new spot on the cultural map with the spectacularly restored 14-meter-wide mural by film designer Hein Heckroth in the former E-Kinos cinema.

Info at a glance

MUSEUM NIGHT: Over 40 cultural institutions in Frankfurt, Offenbach, and Eschborn are offering a rich program of art and culture at MUSEUM NIGHT 2025, including guided tours, performances, live music, film screenings, and workshops.
