Frankfurt Main Finance assumes spokesperson role at the working group of German financial centres ‘GERMANY FINANCE’

Since its foundation in 2021, Germany Finance has established itself as a working group of German financial centres. The role of spokesperson will be handed over from NRW to Frankfurt in 2025.

On 1 January 2025, the financial centre Frankfurt took over the role of spokesperson for Germany Finance and is therefore the point of contact for all enquiries. Last year, this role was held by the financial centre NRW. The role of Germany Finance spokesperson rotates annually among the members of the initiative.

Germany Finance can look back on a successful 2024. One highlight was the presentation of a study on the transformation strategies of the USA, Europe and Germany in December, which was conducted by the German Economic Institute (IW) on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In 2025, Germany Finance will pay particular attention to the performance of Germany as a financial centre. The financial industry wants to work together with policymakers to tackle the current challenges and increase the competitiveness of Germany as a financial centre.

‘The merger of the German financial centres under the Germany Finance brand and the cooperation with the federal foreign trade agency Germany Trade & Invest gives us the opportunity to efficiently tackle important, cross-location tasks in joint projects again in 2025. In particular, the aim is to position Germany as an attractive location for start-ups and innovative financial technologies. In addition, projects related to financing the sustainable transformation remain on the working group's agenda.’
