DVFA Commission presents new version of the DGFR – German Principles for Financial Research

The DVFA Commission for Company Analysis has fundamentally revised the DGFR – German Principles for Financial Research and now presents version 3.0. The new version has been adapted to current legal and regulatory requirements, particularly with regard to the dissemination of investment recommendations and research studies via social media. In addition, version 3.0 for the first time includes recommendations for the preparation of research for corporate bonds and promissory note loans (SSD).

‘With the DGFR 3.0, we are taking account of the dynamic developments in the field of financial research and offering analysts and companies an updated best-practice basis. In this way, we are providing guidance in a complex regulatory environment,’ explains Volker Sack, Head of the DVFA Commission for Company Analysis.

Since their first publication in 2006, the DGFR have established themselves as the standard for financial analysts and brokers. The new version expands the previous focus on equities to include other important asset classes. The updated minimum standards also include practical guidelines for the use of modern communication platforms.

The changes to Principles 3.0 will be presented at the DVFA Corporate Reporting Day on 16 January 2025 in Frankfurt, which will focus on current developments in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability reporting in financial analysis.
