Everything about the European Football Championship 2024 in Frankfurt

The European Football Championship 2024 is approaching and Frankfurt am Main is preparing for fans from all over the world. From 14 June to 14 July 2024, Germany will host the European Championships and Frankfurt is one of the ten host cities. In addition to the football matches, the city offers numerous activities and events.

The fan mile: Centre of the European Championship celebrations

The Fan Mile on the banks of the Main is the centre of the European Championship celebrations in Frankfurt. The 1.4 kilometre-long stretch on Untermainkai offers space for up to 30,000 visitors and is the second-largest fan mile in Germany. Here, fans can watch all 51 matches on ten large LED screens, including an impressive 144 square metre floating screen on the River Main

In addition to the football experience, the Fan Mile also offers interactive opportunities. A floating football pitch and two mini football pitches invite fans to get active themselves. Tournaments, in which people with and without disabilities play together, set an example for community and integration. Frankfurt is the venue for five matches during the European Championship, including Switzerland – Germany (23/06) and a round of 16 match. The venue is Deutsche Bank Park, which seats 47,000 spectators and is easily accessible by public transport.
The city’s ambassadors for Euro 2024 are bobsledder and Olympic champion Deborah Levi and Alexander Meier, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt for 14 years. For each host city, there are other prominent athletes who represent the respective cities.

Culture and culinary delights: a feast for the senses

In addition to the e-sports tournaments and the football golf course, the Fanzone in Frankfurt will offer exciting events and activities during UEFA EURO 2024. A varied music programme with local and international artists will be presented on six stages. The German Film Institute & Film Museum (DFF) is also organising an open-air cinema with film classics and family films in the open air. The cultural programme is constantly being expanded and updated.

The Fan Mile also offers a wide range of culinary delights. Various food stalls present local and international specialities so that visitors can not only cheer on their teams, but also enjoy Frankfurt’s culinary diversity.

Frankfurt also offers an extensive supporting programme. The fan embassy at the main railway station serves as a central contact point for fans from all over the world, where they can obtain information, support and merchandise. Special meeting points for fan marches at Roßmarkt and Opernplatz will create a special atmosphere in the city.

Security is a top priority at Euro 2024: Increased video surveillance and additional police security measures will ensure that all fans can enjoy the matches and activities in a safe environment. In addition, 1,600 volunteers will be on duty as ambassadors of the city to assist visitors with questions and problems.
